Haiku

Verses of Love for Jagari Mukherjee

seadusk clarinets,

dancers the coastland breathing,

winds canoodle wolves.

midnight eros plums,

your drenched butterfly bosoms,

interludes of light.

the east of winter's mouth,

loving south of your lips—

bed, skinsong lava.

sleeping jaguar mist

in your velvet armpit castles—

chandeliers in wind.

crackling sky on a fractal night—

soon you blue-sprinkle over

me like salt.
